Beautiful Baby...

I'm sure the other baby is just as beautiful but someone was playing shy again at our appointment so we only got a picture of the one :( Thought I would share just the same. She looks like a cutie to me. The second time Dr. B went in for a look she had her foot up by her head...too funny. I think she's sucking on her pinkie in this picture.
The appointment went well. We saw both of the girls (one was head down and one was head up this time). We weren't able to get a good view of the one who was head down. One girl was estimated to be 2 1/2 pounds and the other was just under 3 pounds. Surprisingly the girl with the two-vessel chord was the bigger baby this time. That was encouraging. Also Dr B said my cervix was still long and closed so no known risk of an early labor...YEAH!! Also update time...

How far along? 29 weeks 1 day

Maternity clothes? only wearing maternity pants now and starting to give up on regular shirts (usually not long enough to cover)

Symptoms: I get tired more easily and uncomfortable. I still have slight numbness in my right leg. My left hip is also having soreness issues lately (bring on the waddling at times)...I think mostly from all the squatty kneeling at work.

Stretch marks? nope not that I can tell yet. Trying to remember my lotions and stuff to help.

Weight Gain: ummmmm... around 18 lbs I think.

Sleep? sleeping pretty good. I have to have my body pillow and I've found that if I wake up asleep on my back that it hurts so I try to keep on my sides.

Best moment this week? I loved seeing the 3D u/s and just seeing that the girls are still doing good.

Movement? pretty active...I still feel the one on the left side more but Dr B said it is just because of position and stuff in the way. I feel less big rolls it seems and more jabs and kicks.

Food Cravings? Hot chocolate...I love hot chocolate. I love milk still. I can eat pretty much anything but bacon.

What I miss? Nothing compared to where I am...but I look forward to being able to walk normal again hehe

What I'm looking forward to? still the nursery stuff...painting, arranging furniture, crib bedding and decor (we'll see how much I get done before the November 6th shower). Oh...kind of looking forward to the baby shower but don't like being the center of attention either so we'll see hehe

Milestones: They are getting bigger. One week until first shower now.

Emotions: Nothing too crazy.

Some days...

Some days I have these weird feelings. Sometimes I look in the mirror or pass by a store window and see my reflection and think jokingly to myself maybe I'm just fat. I know it's ridiculous and don't actually think I'm fat. I just can't believe I'm actually here at this stage in life and that I'm carrying around two little babies. I get the constant reminder with kicks and prodding and pokes that "hello we're here" but it still seems unreal. I haven't gotten really big although Jeff and I know I've gotten bigger over the months. Everyone constantly tells me that I'm so tiny for twins and I agree and remind them that I am 6'1" and have extra room for them to grow. Truthfully I'm grateful that I haven't gotten really big or uncomfortable and I hope that I'll continue to just gradually grow over the next couple of months so my body can keep up (ie no stretch marks). I just can't believe they are going to be here in a couple months is all. Maybe even sooner but hopefully not. Jeff told me over the weekend how excited he is to have them here and have kids with me. He's so good. I'm excited and scared to have them (yes the actual day of) and to be a mom but I love the idea of seeing Jeff as a dad and I know how great he will be. Anyway since I haven't put up pictures for a while I thought I'd post some here...I'm sure I look tired still from our long weekend and my late night homework last night (plus no makeup hehe) but oh well.

*bare belly shot*
*I definitely lost weight in other areas to gain it in the belly*

Progress...

We have progress. Okay okay so we're trying to always move to the end goal of getting the girl's room all put together. I still have my hair brain thinking if I really push it I can make it by November 6th (first shower with friends...being held at our house so I can show off the nursery). But we did get a couple of bigger things out of the way today...yeah!! I finished painting and clear coating the changing table (what a pain) and we also finally found a chair for the nursery. I originally thought a glider would be nice/okay but then the lazy boy recliner/rocker idea started sounding nicer (especially since the gliders I sat in were not comfortable and the ones that were cost way too much). We finally found one on clearance that would match the color scheme (it is cream/off-white and was only $180...heck yah). It is cheaper even then the somewhat cheaper gliders and much more comfortable. Now if we can just finish painting the room so that we can put all of this stuff in it. Oh and crib bedding hear I come...just as soon as we get back from Vegas for our anniversary. Happy 3rd Anniversary hubby :)

28 weeks

How far along? 28 weeks (exactly)...on time second week in a row :)

Maternity clothes? only wearing maternity pants now and starting to give up on regular shirts (usually not long enough to cover)

Symptoms: I get tired more easily and uncomfortable (I think the girls are jumping on my bladder at times). I still have slight numbness in my right leg. I haven't had charlie horses recently (bananas help).

Stretch marks? nope not that I can tell yet. Trying to remember my lotions and stuff to help.

Weight Gain: ummmmm... around 15 lbs still.

Sleep? sleeping pretty good. I slept so good last night that I felt like I wasn't pregnant (in the uncomfortable sense) until I got out of bed to get ready.

Best moment this week? buying some cute clothes and just trying to get going still on decor and nursery. Jeff started his new job this week too and his insurance benefits are great so stress over medical money is less now :) yeah!

Movement? Oh yah they are very active. Today they have been really going (made work a little uncomfortable). The one on the right was really busy today too which was nice since she is usually harder to feel. They are supposed to be running out of room but I'm not so sure about that based on my stomach size hehe I think they are cozy but still living it up in their luxury suite :)

Food Cravings? Nothing I would call a strong craving. I love milk. I love all food really (well except bacon...I didn't like it before and even more so now). I always feel hungry like a 1/2 hour or so after eating.

Gender? two little girls

What I miss? Nothing compared to where I am.

What I'm looking forward to? working on the nursery...I think I could list this for the next few weeks :) haha I feel behind with this still and want so much to get it done and ready. I also need to work on the bedding so that can be done. Jeff was good and worked on priming more the other night while I was at work even though he was pooped from his new job.

Milestones: I don't know. Realization that they are going to be here in a little over two months or sooner is starting to sink in (ahhhhhhh! *excitement and nerves*).

Emotions: Not crazy or super emotional I guess but not as even keel either.

27 weeks

How far along? 27 weeks (exactly)...I finally did it on time :)

Maternity clothes? only wearing maternity pants now and starting to not fit normal shirts now

Symptoms: Feeling good still but starting to feel more wear. I get tired more easily and I've been getting leg cramps when I sleep (talk about stinky when your leg hurts and you can't really easily reach it to rub) and my right leg goes numb sometimes on the surface.

Stretch marks? nope not that I can tell yet.

Weight Gain: ummmmm... around 15 lbs maybe.

Sleep? sleeping pretty good...although leg cramps and potty breaks are not making it as easy as it used to be.

Best moment this week? I'm not sure...just the usual movement and feeling/looking more pregnant. Next appointment is tomorrow.

Movement? Oh yah they are very active. I usually feel the baby on my left more so but I've started feeling the baby on the right now too. I see them "popping" pretty good sometimes when I watch my stomach. They usually like to get active when I'm settling in to go to bed. Jeff is able to feel them frequently now too.

Food Cravings? Nothing I would call a craving. I like milk, peanut butter and cinn/sugar and pretty much everything I liked before this pregnancy.

Gender? two little girls

What I miss? Nothing compared to where I am.

What I'm looking forward to? working more on the nursery (it's half primed and Jeff picked a shade of yellow to paint), finishing the changing table and working on and hopefully finishing the bedding too. I can't wait to see how it all looks together.

Milestones: The babies have hit viability week. Not that we'd ever want them to come this early but they would have a fair chance of survival if they did now.

Emotions: I get more weepy lately. Over songs on the radio and when I think of ending a generational tradition in Jeff's family all because my body went kaput (but then again we may have had all girls even if I were working right). Thinking of re-thinking one of the girl's middle names though.

Can I get some nesting?

I am starting to feel behind in my prep for the babies. We have (hopefully) almost 3 months (wow...not even 3 full months) until they should be here, since Dr B won't let me go to my actual due date. I don't expect to go early but that may even happen in actuality. Anyway I only have one crib ruffle done, no bumpers done, no quilts done and no painting done. Ahhhhhhhhh!! Can we say I need some motivation. I'm hoping to convince Jeff to get the priming done in the nursery tonight (I asked and he agreed so just some sweet reminding right?) Also we bought a changing table on KSL but I need to sand and paint it to match the other nursery furniture. I was hoping to finish things before our first shower on November 6th so I could show it off but not sure that will happen. Just do what we can I guess.

PS Well we got the room prepped for priming tonight (holes puttied, sanding, etc) and I sanded some of the changing table. Not bad for a day's work. I feel better already :)

30 and counting....

I turned 30 today. I can't say it was a depressing birthday. I feel like I'm at a good place in life and although I'm not as accomplished as I would like to be I think I'm getting there (hopefully). It still doesn't feel like a birthday though...I guess they start just seeming like any other day. Some of that I think has to do with the fact my parents are out of state and I'm used to being able to celebrate with them and some of it I'm sure is just based on the fact I've had so many now :) haha

We celebrated with Jeff's family on Sunday and most of Jeff's family chipped in on money for a glider or rocker (I'm thinking of going with a lazy boy type chair). Jeff and I went to dinner last night due to the fact I have class tonight and he's taking me for a Blondie tonight after class. My parents sent me a card and some birthday money. They also sent some baby clothes (unrelated to my birthday) and some more money for baby things. I feel so overwhelmed by their generosity.

It will be amazing to see the changes that will happen in my life before my next birthday though. A cute coworker commented to me today that by my next birthday I will have two little ones crawling under my feet. Wow! So unbelievable to me still. Here is to "my next 30 years" (as Tim McGraw sings).

25 1/2 weeks

How far along? 25 weeks 3 days (man I really tried this week to be on the week mark too)

Maternity clothes? only wearing maternity pants now but still some regular shirts.

Symptoms: Feeling great. I get tired more now though but not as much as the last couple week. I stayed up until 2 am last night hanging out with an old girl friend and slept great.

Stretch marks? nope not that I can tell yet. Perhaps some little hip ones or ones I already had around my hips but they're light and I don't notice them.

Weight Gain: ummmmm... around 10 or 12 lbs is all still I think. But my ob/gyn hasn't said anything about it not being enough though so I'll just keep eating my extra and as long as the girls are growing I won't worry about it. They were 1 1/2 lbs at our 25 week appointment and looked great.

Sleep? sleeping pretty good...sometimes get leg cramps but usually great sleep still. More potty breaks now though...one or two a night.

Best moment this week? I would say just feeling the girls move regularly now. Jeff likes to just talk to my belly and try to get them to move. Maybe the girls at my medical record job actually saying I'm finally starting to look pregnant haha

Movement? Oh yah they are very active. I still don't see them a lot of the time on the outside but can feel them daily if I put my hands on my stomach. Also constantly feel them squirming around and kicking or pushing...they better not be fighting in there hehe

Food Cravings? Nothing is super good but nothing is bad to me either. We ate pitas a couple days in a row and those were very yummy. I still eat my peanut butter sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar on a slice of bread pretty frequently. But that has always tasted good to me (the weird food concoctions you pick up from your parents...thanks dad). I also still love Nesquick and milk. We were out of milk for a couple days and I was craving a big glass.

Gender? two little girls...can't wait to see them.

What I miss? Nothing compared to where I am.

What I'm looking forward to? Working on the nursery still (hoping to prime it this week) and working more on the crib bedding (also this week...should be starting in on bumpers...kinda scared of those). And we talk about the girls being here more and I get excited to see what they will be like. Still nervous at the idea of two babies at once but then I read other multiple blogs and I'm grateful it's not three or four.

Milestones: hmmmmm...I don't know. Looking more pregnant instead of plump I hope hehe Also I will be turning 30 on Tuesday :-O Oh my

Emotions: feeling pretty normal. Grateful that this pregnancy has really been easy so far.
*I actually like this picture*
*I don't actually like this one hehe*
